Why We Exist - The Sandwich Project

Why We Exist

The Need in Georgia

36% of Georgia families face food insecurity—more than double the national average.
1 in 6 children in Metro Atlanta go to bed hungry despite living in one of the nation's most prosperous regions.
57% of food-insecure Georgians earn too much for SNAP but too little for consistent food access.
Most food-insecure families have jobs—they're choosing between rent and groceries, gas and dinner.
Food insecurity affects your coworker, your child's classmate's family, the person checking you out at the store
